Researches members:

  • Prof. Marcel G. Clerc
He has extensive experience in modeling and analysis in Nonlinear Physics, mainly in nonlinear optics, mechanics, magnetic systems, granular matter and fluid dynamics, in close connection with experiments. Supported by FONDECYT grants 1210353 and 1120320, International cooperation program, CONICYT-USA, PII20150011, Millennium Institute for Research in Optics (MIRO).
  • Dr. Mario Wilson
Postdoctoral fellow, he is a young scientist with an Electrical Engineering degree and Ph. D. Physics, specializing in nonlinear experimental optics who has devoted his scientific efforts in understanding robust optical phenomena in different settings, particularly in the chaotic dynamics of lasers. Suported by Millennium Institute for Research in Optics (MIRO).

Past researches members:

  • Dr. Raouf Barboza
Postdoctoral fellow, he is an outstanding young scientist holding an Electrical Engineering degree and Ph. D. Physics with expertise in experimental nonlinear optics who has a prominent role in the creation of optical vortex networks. Suported by FONDECYT grant 314057.
  • Dr. Vincent Odent
Past postdoctoral fellow of Lafer (2012-2013). He was in charge of the initialization and startup of Lafer. During this period he studied various phenomena such as photo-isomerization fronts in dye-doped nematic liquid crystals, spatiotemporal dislocation chains in drifting patterns, and zig-zag wall lattice in a nematic liquid crystals.
  • Dr. Mauricio Morel
Postdoctoral fellow, he is a materials chemist who has concentrated his scientific efforts on the study of different materials and the technological transfer of them. Suported by FONDECYT grant 3170509. Currently professor at the University of Atacama.
  • Dr. Michel Ferre
Postdoctoral fellow, he is a young nonlinear physicist who devoted his efforts to study the defects dynamics. Suported by grant PII20150011 and Millennium Institute for Research in Optics.
